Hamburger Hill Vet Honored


James Green proudly displays a gift from the Soldiers at Fort Campbell

South Carolina Governor McMaster and First Lady Peggy McMaster, South Carolina Veterans Affairs, Country music star Craig Morgan, friends and family as well as Rakkasans young and old were among those who gathered outside the South Carolina State House last Friday to honor James Greene for his actions in Vietnam 51 years ago. At the ceremony on August 9, 2020, Greene received the Bronze Star, the purple heart with 2 oak leaf clusters, Presidential Unit Citation, Valorous Unit award, the Vietnam Service Medal with 3 bronze service stars, the Republic of Vietnam campaign medal and his Combat Infantryman Badge.
